The Expressway Auto Group has become a thriving business over the years. The Bulkley family openeded the doors at Expressway Dodge in January of 1992. In 2002 the Family purchased the the former Keck Chevrolet, within 4 years Expressway Chevrolet had grown past the capacity of this location. July 2006 ground was broken on the Expressway Auto Mall of America on the corner of Highway 62 East and the Highway 69 Bypass in Mount Vernon, IN. The 40acre complex is the site of 3 current Expressway dealerships: Expressway Chevrolet, Buick GMC, Expressway Jeep, Chrysler Dodge and Expressway Ford. Giving back to the community is very important to the Expressway Auto Group, our Advertising Team works endless hours thru events and fundraisers in achieving specific goals they have set. The Susan G Komen is something they work year round in raising awareness and hosting fundraisers to help find a CURE.
This Employee Spotlight is dedicated to Michele Tepool! Michele has been part of the Expressway team for a total of 13 years. She worked at Expressway Dodge in Evansville for 3 years before joining us here in Mt. Vernon, where she is the head of advertising, marketing, and customer service. Michele says you either hate the car business or love it, and fortunately for us she loves it! She loves interacting with all the different people and facing the different challenges they bring her on a daily basis.
Michele has been married to her husband Tony for 14 years. Her daughter, Britini, is 24 and her son, Cameron, is 12 ½. She also loves spoiling and being a nana to her two year old grandson named Lincoln! When she isn't at work, Michele is busy taking care of the concession stands for the St. Wendel Athletic Club where her son plays, and depending which season it is, cheering him on at either baseball or basketball. She is also a huge advocate for Susan G. Komen and is lucky enough to be a chairperson for the Expressway Team. She also holds a chair on the Expressway for the Cure Golf Scramble and helps get it all ready to go each year.
This month's Employee Spotlight goes out to Derrick Kincheloe. Around here we know him better as DK, though. DK has been selling cars for Expressway Chevrolet for over 9 years now, and he's one of our best. His favorite thing about being part of the Expressway team is that every day is a new day, and no day is the same as the last. In July he'll be marrying the love of his life, Lindsay, and together they have a Shih Poo puppy named Ace. In his free time DK likes playing tennis, watching movies, playing guitar, and reading.
Jason Cavins has been with the Expressway family for over 13 years. Before becoming a business manager at Expressway Chevrolet, he worked as a salesman at the Dodge store for 4 years. He made the switch from sales to finance because it was a great opportunity that he just couldn’t pass up. Jason says he loves busy days at work because of all the excitement and energy in the atmosphere. When you step into his office, you’ll not only notice that it’s the best smelling office you’ve ever been in, but also that this is a man who loves his family. The pictures on his walls are full of his wife, Crystal, and their 4 sons aged between 8 and 19 years: Brandon, Tevin, Alec, and Zach. When Jason isn’t at work, he enjoys playing with remote control airplanes, going to the gym, and making sure his family is always happy.
Rob Wood first joined the Expressway family in 1995 when he was just a fresh-faced 17 year old. 19 years later, he is now a sales manager at Expressway Chevrolet and loves every minute of it. When asked about his favorite thing about work, Rob said, "I love that I get to come to work every day and enjoy what I do. It makes me feel like an athlete to get paid to do what I love." He also loves interacting with all the different people he sees on a daily basis.
Rob is married to his wife, Tara, and they have 3 daughters and a son: Taylor, Lenyx, Jaci, and Ava. Their latest edition to the family was a little dog named Molly. Rob says he loves listening to music, watching high school basketball, and boating, all with his family in tow.
